Indo-Persian Kard
This piece started as a discussion and drawing session between myself and Robert Burns of Wilderness Ironworks. We wanted to do something that differed from either of our styles and was something that neither of us could do alone. Robert was the main craftsman on the blade with me helping, and vice versa on the handle. The blade is a 7 bar turkish twist pattern that reminds me of oil on water. The handle is petrified walrus ivory with bronze fittings I carved. Then gems set in the handle are all garnets. The style is definitely persian influenced, but doesn't fit any particular type of traditional blade.
