Steinvik Sword

This sword is a collaboration between myself and Emiliano Carrillo.  It's a reproduction of viking age sword found in Steinsvik farm in Norway.   The blade is a multibar pattern weld by Emiliano.  The edge is made of 1000 layers of pattern welded steel wrapped around the core of four twisted bars. It is a huge sword, with a blade measuring 34 inches and about 2.25 inches wide at the base.  I made the handle.  The hilt and pommel are a base of bronze with silver and copper wire inlaid into it, along with manganese bronze panels.  The pommel has twisted silver wires wrapped around it.  The handle is carved from maple.
